Miss Kelly's Class

Welcome to Miss Kelly's 1st Grade Classroom! I am very excited to begin my second year of teaching at Tindley Genesis for the 2021-2022 school year. We all got through the craziness last year and let's hope this year will be better! I am thrilled to be able to actually meet all of the parents and 1st grade students face to face, finally! <3 

 

My students will be held to the highest of standards every single day. My goal is to have ALL of my students pass on their Dibels and Clearsight scores by the end of the year. However, growth is the main thing I will be focusing on this year. I will help bring more strong academics, to all of the kids, mixed with a lot of fun. 

 

A little bit about me - 

I am a Southside Indy native and I'm grateful to call it my hometown. While growing up, I developed a love for sports. Once graduating high school, I decided to continue my softball career at the University of Indianapolis. During my time there, I studied Sports Management and received a Bachelors of Science Degree. In which, I am proud to say I am a first generation college grad. :) 

I know you are wondering, how did a girl who studied Sports Management want to become a teacher!? To be honest, I have a passion for helping others succeed and that grew more while coaching high school softball. Which is why I am now receiving a Master's Degree in Teaching through Marian University. I have 1 more year to complete it. So yes, like the students, I am a still a student as well. 

 

My overall goal as an educator is to help every student receive the education they deserve!! I can't wait to get to know you and my students to give them the best year yet.
